Blue and Gold

This is one of my favorite fall color photos from Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP). It’s from one of the aspen groves in Moraine Park. Unfortunately, I’m not sure what direction I was facing so cannot be sure of which mountain those are. I think the middle one is Hallett Peak and the one to [...]

Sea of Gold

These photos were taken about halfway up the Cub Lake trail. This is really a great hike as you start out walking through Moriane Park and in the distance you can see several groves of aspens. Then, as you get closer, you realize you are going to hike right through them! Its such an amazing [...]

Crabapple?

I took a walk out along the highline canal multipurpose trail this morning and came across this tree with red fruit. Upon further inspection, they appear to be apples, but I’m not quite sure what kind. I was thinking crabapples, as they are small, but may not be small enough to qualify.

More Elk Rut Photos

I’m taking some time tonight to go through the images from RMNP from the last two months. Here are a few samples of photos from the Elk Photography Event that Outdoor Eyes held.
The Elk pictured was in Morraine Park, which is an open meadow off of Bear Lake Road in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Cub Lake

Work has kept me extremely busy the last few weeks and, as a result, I haven’t been able to go through many photos. But I got a chance to look through the folder from my most recent (10/6) hike up to Cub Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Colors and Critters

It has been a very busy week at work, so I have not gotten very far in going through the photos from this past Saturday’s trip to RMNP. I’ve been there four times so far and have taken over 4GB of photos!
On Saturday we hiked up to Cub Lake and even saw a moose! Although I [...]

Steamshovel

On the way back from RMNP I drove down the Peak to Peak Highway (Rt. 7) to Rt. 72. On the way into Nederland, CO I drove past one of the last steam shovels in existence. Of course, I had no idea that they even existed until a friend recommended that route and told me [...]

Fall Colors in Golden Gate Canyon State Park

I was up hiking in Golden Gate Canyon this past Sunday. It was a beautiful day to be outside. While it was very cold in the morning (around 38 degrees), it warmed up to the 70s by midday. The air was clean and crisp. Being from the northeast, I miss seeing the red maples and [...]
