Utah Mountains

I was sorting through some photos tonight and came across these shots from a trip to Utah in January 2007. They are near the Snowbird ski resort (I think) where myself and a cousin did some snowshoeing.

Red Bellied Bee

I was in Chatfield State Park in early August and found this little guy buzzing around by one of the lakes. I’ve never seen a bee with a red abdominal section before.

I decided to take advantage of the 70 degree sunny afternoon to check out Waterton Canyon, which is just south of Chatfield State Park. Paul Bunyan’s Boot and Rocky Path

Two more photos from the Gem Lake and Lumpy Ridge Hike yesterday. One is called “Paul Bunyan’s Boot.” It is an interesting formation and I’m really curious how the hole got in the middle. Interestingly enough it only looks like a boot from the one side.

Gem Lake and Lumpy Ridge

I traveled up to Estes Park earlier today to join the Outdoor Eyes Hiking and Photography group for a hike up to Gem Lake in RMNP. It was a great hike and a beautiful day!
The path up to the lake is fairly rocky and lends itself to fantastic views of rock formations and neighboring peaks.
