I was walking along the Highline Canal tonight and saw these squirrels hiding out in a birdhouse high up on a cottonwood tree.

I decided to head up to Golden Gate Canyon yesterday afternoon about 1.5 hours before sunset. Of course that’s only about an hour before the sun sinks below the Rockies. It was a nice short hike.

I took a ride down to Roxborough State Park earlier today to check out a few trails. Roxborough is about 10 minutes further south than Chatfield State Park, which is about 10 minutes south of Littleton. I was rather impressed with the park! The land sloping down from my apartment complex is filled with prairie dog borrows. There must be about two to three dozen of them. We had a warm day on Saturday (50+ degrees) and many of the dogs were running about and barking like crazy!
