Wildflower Gallery

My Raccoon Gallery was a pretty successful test of using lightroom and simpleviewer to put together some basic flash based galleries, so I decided to put another one together.
The Wildflower Gallery consists of 36 of the best wildflower photos I have taken so far this summer. I went through about 150 or so from various places [...]

Wildlife at the Arsenal’s Refuge

I went on an early morning walk with a friend through the Rocky Mountain Arsenal’s Wildlife Refuge and we spent quite some time looking over some loons and stalking white tailed deer. Unfortunately, there weren’t many other critters about (aside from other small birds). But, it was a really nice walk and we got to [...]

Lily Lake Wildflowers

Here are a few of the wildflower images from the Outdoor Eyes Lily Lake Hike. Lily Lake is just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park, a few miles south of Estes Park along Route 7 (a.k.a. Peak to Peak Highway).

Butterfly and Flowers

I was up at Lily Lake with folks from Outdoor Eyes yesterday for some wildflower photography. There were quite a few varieties around and we got some great views of the lake. More wildflower photos will be posted soon.

Wildflowers at RMA

Here are a few of the wildflower photos I took while walking through the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge on Sunday. Quite a variety of flowers out there and plenty of butterflies too! I have a lot of other wildflower photos from my weekend walks along the highline canal as well that I have yet [...]

Raccoons at the Arsenal Wildlife Refuge

The Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge opened this weekend. I’m not sure how long it was closed for, but very glad it opened up before I left Colorado. It is definitely worth a sunrise visit to see what other critters may be out before the heat of the day sets in. This little guy [...]

Bunnies and Birds

I was out twice today for walks along the Highline Canal in Littleton and ended up taking over 150 photos. Lots of flowers in bloom, dozens of rabbits running about, many different birds flying about, but no baby foxes to be seen. Over the last year, I must have seen about a dozen rabbits running [...]

11,790 Feet

At least that is what I recall the sign saying when I decided to turn around on Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park a few weeks ago. I believe the highest point is about 12,180, but I was just under that. It was a pretty good ride up to that elevation. The air [...]
